Then There Was Light

I finally got some lamps to go on the bed side tables and just in time too. The light on our ceiling fan went out and I'm not talking the bulb blew, it doesn't work at all. After trying many light bulbs and finding out the the fan still works we realized we were either going to have to get a new light kit and fix it or get a new ceiling fan. My vote went to a new ceiling fan!! Now I get to research and go shopping for a new one. 


Anyways, here is the new lamp. This is my hubby's side(mine was a mess with receipts). The lamps came from Lowes. They were also sold separately(the base and the shade) so they added up pretty fast. I also got my husband a charging station so we wouldn't have to hunt in the floor to find the cord that he needed. Plus, I was tried of seeing stuff thrown all over. This way everything is neat and he will be able to find what he is looking for. Let me know what you think of my beautiful new lamp.

Kitchen Redo and Ideas

Finally after getting a new dining room table that I am proud of I noticed that I don't really like the kitchen and decided it was time for an upgrade. We don't have a lot of money to pour into the kitchen so we are going to do a little at a time, just in-case I change my mind on some things(which will probably happen). We are going to do everything ourselves with the help of my lovely parents. Here's a few pics ideas and inspiration. (I have been collecting these for a long time so I don't remember who to give credit to. If the pics are yours please let me know so I can give you credit.)

I originally wanted to paint the cabinets white but after seeing some blacks cabinets I change my mind. Then when it came to buy paint I couldn't do it so after weeks of going back and forth I decided on black. The pics above I decided to pull from each pic: 

The 1st-Yellow and blue are the colors and to have butcher block counter tops.

The 2nd- we have an U shaped kitchen with the dishwasher not beside the sink. We decided to break apart the U, move the dishwasher beside the sink and combine the leftover cabinets to make an island. The island will also have butcher block. 

The 3rd- I just really love the idea of having the island yellow and I love the counter stools. I don't know how well that will look with black cabinets. 

The 4th- The inspiration for the black cabinets.

The 5th- Love the detail added to the bottom of the cabinets and the idea of having the cabinets opened. 

BFF's Wedding and Bridal Gown Shopping

My best friend is getting married in March so I got the lucky pleasure of going dressing shopping with her and her mom to get her wedding dress.

We had her try on a long one just so she would know thats not what she wanted and she didn't regret it later. After she tried it on she really loved it and then started second guessing herself.

These will be the bridesmaid dresses but in a light blue color. When I went to go try the dress on I was afraid they wouldn't have a size for me to try on but I am used to it. I have been doing weight watchers to lose weight for the wedding and for the summer and I really wasn't even sure what size I was so I just guessed a size. Come to find out the size fit and I had no problem getting it on and it fit very well. I have went down 2 dress sizes!! Also, please don't judge the awful hair and no make-up, I was sick and felt like death.

First Things First...The Master Bedroom

I have been working on my master bedroom. I wanted to show you guys what I have so far. I am getting some table lamps, an ottoman, and some wall decor. I would like to update our bed from a queen to a king but I think that it would be to big for the room.
So here is a before pic.....

Nothing really fancy. The room is very long and we wanted to put the bed on the wall beside the window and put a couch or maybe two chairs in front of the window. Ones we started getting our furniture in it really didn't work out the way because the bed would have been right in front of the door to go into the master bath and it was a tight squeeze. 

As you can tell we really use our night stands lol. We have purchased some hardwood floors but I am still debating if I want to put it in the bedroom or just do the bathrooms and living room. I would love to hear your comments but just remember im still updating and changing things around.
